"Mayday! Mayday! There's a great big music festival right ahead o' us cap'n!"

Okay, apologies for the horrendous pun, but how else to draw your attention to our musical May, which gets off to a flying start with THE BOGANS on April 30th (the eve of a public holiday!) and truly explodes on Saturday May 2nd with PoW WoW!! '09, a one-day music festival featuring some of the best bands in Singapore...?

Yes, PoW WoW!! is back, three years after it's highly praised debut which featured then virtual unknowns (now bona fide members of the Sg music establishment) like The Great Spy Experiment and The Pinholes. Once again the PoW will be bringing you some of the hottest of the talent that is bubbling just under the surface, including popsters QUINARII, the heavier rock sound of BLACKDISCOBALL and the retro stylings of THE LONDON FOG (tipped by many as Singapore's "next big thing"), with support from guest Filipino regae and ska band LUPA & THE SUPERSTARS. There's always the possibility of the odd special surprise(d) guest as well... before we finish the evening with a set by one of Sg's best international spinners, DJ BOGALOO SHRIMP (aka Ulysses James).
