Tonight the PoW will be hosting a fundraiser gig for victims of the recent bushfires in Australia.

Music provided by Stingy Lil, The Disclaimers, The Trip and DJ Boogaloo Shrimp as well as a charity auction.

All band and DJ fees are being donated, plus $2 from every Australian beer sold and all door monies - entry $1 minimum (no maximum!). Donations will be made via Red Cross, as listed on the Australian High Commision website.

Well, hello there! What a start to 2009 we've had... New Year's Eve seems eons ago, but what a blistering January it has been, with our first Tinnie Run a great success, the haggis on the barbie for Burns' Night, and of course the now-legendary knees up we had for Australia Day - if you weren't there you really missed out!!!

Upcoming Music & Sport

And so to the future... February may be a short month, but as usual it's a fun-packed one! Music-wise we have a lineup including favourites Dorian Roach, Silent Treatment, The Disclaimers and Mega-Stimulator (amongst others - check the band calendar for details), and with the AFL about to kick off, the Six Nations just starting and regular EPL action, sport-fans won't be left out either!

St. Valentine's Day

Of course, on February 14th bars all over Singapore will be celebrating love and romance... and happy couples are welcome down at the PoW to celebrate however they feel fit! But what of those poor souls out there not so lucky in love? Well, seek out Alex, the Manager, and give him your sob-story... the best ones will earn themselves a drink on him! But while you're at it, don't forget that there are many out there who found their better halves at the PoW (including Alex himself) and your luck could just change. Although even if it doesn't that's no excuse not to join in the party atmosphere!

St. David's Day

Enough of St. Valentine... what about St. David? "Who?", I hear you cry... The Patron Saint of Wales, of course! The Sunday Session on March 1st will see the PoW celebrating St. David and all things Welsh, with live music in the beer garden, free food on the barbie and a special offer of $6 bottles of Welsh beer!!! You can't go wrong with that!

So, we look forward to celebrating all these things and anything else you want to celebrate down at the Prince of Wales... see you very soon!!!
